Good and affordable location to stay near Golden Gate Bridge?
This is the first time my friend and I are visiting and would love to find a hotel near the Golden Gate Bridge that is not so pricey. We are not picky as in we-have-to-stay-at-a-5 star just a nice, decent and very clean place to stay those couple of nights there.
We are staying in S. Francisco for two days and are coming from So Cal, more exactly Orange County. Is there a good (not so expensive) place to stay? We are only coming for a couple of days but would like to visit at least the Chinese Tea Garden and walk the Golden Gate Bridge and stay near it. Any suggestions for places to stay are greatly appreciated!
Oops. Thanks for the correction, I meant Japanese Tea Garden not Chinese.
I’m sure someone else will have hotel suggestions (if not, search http://yelp.com for hotels in the “Marina/Cow Hollow” neighborhood). Just to point out a few things…
1) The Golden Gate Bridge is in the Presidio, which is Federal and prely protected park and residential housing… no hotels. The closest hotels will be in the Marina/Cow Hollow neighborhood a bit over a mile away. That’s the closest you’ll get to staying near it.
2) Japanese Tea Garden, not Chinese.
